Social Events for the 2015 DCLDE Workshop

Stone Brewing World Bistro and Gardens in Liberty Station
A beer social at Stone Brewing World Bistro and Gardens in Liberty Station. We will have a banquet room and bocce courtyard to allow us to enjoy a summer evening in San Diego over some appetizers and beers from this famous local microbrewery. Shuttles will be provided.
Please sign up for the Stone Brewing World Bistro and Gardens dinner during registration. There will be a modest cost associated with this event that will be included when you fill out the registration form.

Birch Aquarium at Scripps Institution of Oceanography
Dinner at the Birch Aquarium at Scripps. You will get to roam through our world-class aquarium and explore all the exhibits without the crowds.

Mexican Fiesta at the SIO Seaside Forum
Poster reception and Mexican Fiesta hosted at the Seaside Forum. We are bringing a Mariachi band to keep us entertained for the evening. A great way to finish off the meeting!
Attendance is included in registration.

Surf Lesson
In addition to the events scheduled during the evenings of the workshop, we are also looking into the possibility of scheduling a surf lesson for interested participants on the Sunday before the workshop. Summer is a great time to learn to surf in San Diego! A nominal amount for this activity will be charged (to cover an hour of instruction and boards for use after the lesson).
